FLOWFacility

Flow cytometry facility and service

Flow cytometry is a powerful and versatile technology allowing to assess up to 50 parameters (either physical, biological or molecular) on thousands of particles per second.

This makes flow cytometry the technology of choice for a wide range of applications, including cell counting, immunophenotyping, detection of fluorescent proteins, cell viability, apoptosis and proliferation, cytokines detection and measurement, cell cycle and DNA content analysis, telomere length measurement, calcium flux.

Moreover, it is possible to exploit the measured parameters to physically separate specific cell subpopulations of interest based of physical and biological characteristics.

Our facility is equipped by one cell analyzer and one cell sorter

Instruments

  • Equipped with 5 lasers:

    • UltraViolet 355nm

    • Violet 405nm

    • Blue 488nm

    • Yellow-Green 561nm

    • Red 633nm

    Characterized by spectral technology.

While conventional flow cytometers assign each of their fluorescence detectors to measure unique fluorochromes around their emission maximum, spectral flow cytometers detect the entire light emission spectrum for every fluorescent molecule, allowing thus to measure up to 50 parameters at the same time at single cell level.

  • Equipped with 3 lasers:

    • Violet 405nm

    • Blue 488nm

    • Red 633nm

Capable to measure up to 16 parameters (2 physical paraeters and 14 fluorescence) on single cells and sort up to 4 different cell populations.

Different collection modes are available, from 15-mL tubes to 1-mL microtubes and culture plates.
